Quote: I fear the developers dont realize what problems accour with the actual jump-in system. Since the game started they made it harder to attack other players - now its nearly impossible to kill an advanced player. Killing n00bs is no problem but an advanced player should be able to evade any combat.
Yesterday i camped alone at a gate. Players jumping in approached to 15-18 km to the gate when they warped to it. Nearly impossible to get them. They warp away or use mwd and if i would manage to target a ship, they can still go offline. This is no action, this is boring bull****. So only way is to go to a jumpin, use a fast targeting ship to stop intruders and cause some lag with drones or mines. I dont want this - i want a fair encounter system and the possibility to create blockades like frontlines. With 150k encounter range, it will be the decision of each player if he wants to approach 1 of these "frontlines" or if he wants to go somewhere else. He also can pay to pass or call reeinforcements. Will be a nice game and every1 should be happy with such features of combat/evade combat.
Lifewire given the fact I know where you camp having chased you round that system more than once I strongly suspect the reason you dont want to camp the jump ins is because your nice shiny Moa will get blown up or you'll run and lose your drones.
Also you idea has a serious flaw, two infact.
1. whats to stop people camping the 150km point?
Given that unless they do a player can choose never to need engage in PVP again, hell we'll just see mine fields at Gates and then Pirates camping a short range away, probably with drones.
2. If by any chance 1. isnt happening and the pirate is at the gate then the only people who benefit are the pirates, they'll run if sufficent opposition comes in and if its just 1 ship they have plenty of time to alter their setups, yet again pirates being able to be lazy and not hunt for prey as everyone else has to travel in EVE.
Personally I think a nice way to solve the jump in problem would be a "Security" channel were PM'd would be sent to a bunch of Polaris guys, they would check ifd an area in empire space is being camped and then "despatch empire security forces" thus making life very short for pirates and favouring the hit and run pirates, sentry guns could also be toned down maybe doing only 100 dmg every 4-6 seconds lowering to 100 every 10 seconds on fringes of empire space.
That way their is no reason for pirate corps to setup shop in one place and quite happily massacre 40 odd people in a day a few jumps away from the Capital system of an empire for example Jan/Obe blockades.
Given the "insta spawn" of Concord and the envietable lag caused to pirates camping a jumpin or gate then it might remind Pirates of what they inflict on others day in and day out.
